In The Netherlands within the Law enforcement and Security industry, we are actively seeking a professional to strengthen our team dedicated to ICT Operations and Infrastructure
This is your role
- Release Management: Deploy ICT solutions in both non-production and production virtualized environments, following provided Infrastructure Designs and the organization's processes and procedures. This includes performing infrastructure and middleware maintenance.
- Security Compliance: Ensure that all deployed ICT solutions comply with security policies and best practices. Monitor and address vulnerabilities, implementing necessary patches and security upgrades.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Liaise with other teams, such as deployment team, security, and service management, to ensure alignment on technical requirements and deliverables.
- Continuous improvements: Design, document and implement automation for recurring tasks, optimize existing processes and update installation, technical, support, and maintenance documentation.
- Change Management: Participate in change management processes, including reviewing, planning, and executing changes while ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Capacity Planning and Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular assessments of system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and provide recommendations for scalability and future growth.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup Management: Design and implement disaster recovery strategies, including regular backups and restoration tests, to ensure business continuity.
- Incident Reporting and Root Cause Analysis: Document incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend long-term solutions to prevent recurring issues and support other teams with.
- Training and Knowledge Transfer: Provide technical training or knowledge transfer to internal teams, ensuring smooth handovers and self-sufficiency in routine tasks.
- Assigned ticket handling: Promptly address incident and change tickets assigned through the ITSM tool, ensuring they are handled immediately upon assignment. This includes following up, prioritizing tasks, and resolving them within the established timeframes and according to SLAs.
This is you
- Minimum 3 years of Experience in creating Technical Designs (including High Level as well as detailed level), that lead to actual implementation (including processing power, network segmentation, security principle of least access, monitoring characteristics, backup and restore, etc.), also covering proven experience in presenting and defending the solution created to stakeholders of various profiles (business, technical, management)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the installation and configuration of Server Operating Systems (MS Windows and/or Linux), including the interaction with Infrastructure at large (File shares with CIFS/SMB and NFS, secure LDAP integration, Public Key Certificates, Service accounts, API’s, etc.)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in adapting Infrastructure Designs, applying/devising Security hardening for each layer of the solution (hardware, Operating System, middleware), including leveraging well-known frameworks (e.g. CIS guidelines)
- Minimum 3 years of experience with documenting technical specifications of solutions, in terms of infrastructure design material (deployment views, server and network specifications, etc.) as well as devising and documenting operational procedures
- Minimum 3 years of experience in negotiation on a technical level with different stakeholders (e.g. ICT Security, Governance, Data Protection, ICT Operations/Solution teams, Project Management, etc.) and incorporating the results on the design deliverables
- Good knowledge in creating Technical Designs both at a High Level and a Detailed level, that lead to implementation.
- Good knowledge of implementation and configuration of Windows Server and/or Linux server operating systems (in physical or virtual format), including the interaction with Infrastructure at large (File shares with CIFS/SMB and NFS, secure LDAP integration, Public Key Certificates, Service accounts, etc.)
- Good knowledge of implementing Security hardening for Operating Systems and/or Applications and/or devices, including the usage of well-known frameworks (e.g. CIS guidelines), including the troubleshooting needed due to the consequences of hardening.
Desirable:
- 3 years of experience in implementing and also tasking and leading an ICT Operational team to perform the setup of the Designs produced, coordinating and helping the implementation of the different components/technology and troubleshooting
- 2 years of experience in calculating the Total Cost of Ownership of the designs created/proposed.
- Good knowledge in configuration of application servers to make usage of the different authentication systems, encryption in traffic, file access and database access. Ability to troubleshoot all of the mentioned components individually and as a set.
